Author Fees

Fokus Bisnis: Media Pengkajian Manajemen dan Akuntansi (FOKBIS) applies a transparent author fee policy to support the editorial, production, and open-access publication process. The ability or inability of an author to pay publication charges does not influence editorial evaluation or peer-review decisions.

Submission Fee

No submission fee is charged. Authors may submit manuscripts to FOKBIS through the journal's online submission system without payment.

Article Publication Charge

Manuscripts that have successfully completed the editorial and peer-review process and received a formal acceptance decision are subject to an Article Publication Charge (APC) of IDR 750,000.

The publication charge supports activities associated with journal administration, editorial processing, copyediting, layout preparation, metadata management, online publication, and maintenance of open access to published articles.

No Paid Fast-Track Service

FOKBIS does not offer a paid fast-track review or accelerated acceptance service. All manuscripts are processed according to the same editorial and peer-review standards regardless of an author's ability or willingness to pay.

APC Waiver and Reduction Policy

FOKBIS recognizes that publication charges may create barriers for some authors. To support equitable participation in scholarly communication, eligible authors may request a full or partial APC waiver.

Waiver requests are considered separately from the academic evaluation of the manuscript and do not influence reviewer selection, peer-review recommendations, or editorial decisions.

1. Authors from Low-Income Economies

A full APC waiver (100%) may be granted when the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution located in an economy classified as low income under the current World Bank Country and Lending Groups .

Eligibility is determined using the World Bank classification applicable at the time the waiver is assessed.

2. Financial Hardship

Authors who do not have access to institutional, research-grant, scholarship, project, or other publication funding may request an APC waiver or reduction. Particular consideration may be given to Master's and Doctoral students, early-career researchers, and independent researchers experiencing genuine financial hardship.

Applicants may be requested to provide a brief formal statement describing their circumstances and, where applicable, supporting confirmation from a supervisor, graduate program, institution, or other appropriate authority.

Depending on the circumstances and available journal resources, an approved request may result in a partial or full waiver.

3. Invited Scholarly Contributions

FOKBIS may invite established scholars with a strong and relevant academic record to contribute manuscripts that are expected to strengthen scholarly discussion within the journal's Focus and Scope.

Invited contributions may be eligible for a full APC waiver. Scholarly standing may be considered through relevant indicators such as publication record, citation impact, academic leadership, subject expertise, and contribution to the field rather than through a single bibliometric threshold.

An invitation or APC waiver does not guarantee publication. Invited manuscripts remain subject to applicable editorial screening, ethical requirements, and peer-review standards.

4. Genuine International Research Collaboration

FOKBIS may provide an APC waiver or reduction for manuscripts resulting from genuine international research collaboration, particularly where authors from institutions in different countries have made substantive scholarly contributions to the research.

The inclusion of an international co-author alone does not automatically qualify a manuscript for a waiver. Authorship must reflect genuine contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the work in accordance with the journal's authorship and publication ethics policies.

International collaboration waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis and may take the form of a partial or full APC waiver.

Waiver Request Procedure

Authors seeking an APC waiver or reduction should submit a request to the journal administration using the journal's official contact channel. The request should identify the manuscript and the applicable waiver category and provide supporting information where required.

As far as practicable, waiver decisions are handled independently from academic editorial decisions. The editor responsible for deciding whether a manuscript is accepted should not base that decision on the author's ability to pay or waiver status.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal, research quality, ethical considerations, and the outcome of peer review. Publication fees, waivers, reductions, institutional affiliation, nationality, or financial circumstances must not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected.

FOKBIS seeks to maintain an appropriate separation between academic editorial decision-making and the administration of publication charges.

The charges and waiver arrangements stated on this page represent the official fee policy of FOKBIS. Authors should not be required to pay charges that are not officially communicated by the journal.
